Do we see the sins of others,
But tend to ignore our own sin?
Do we justify our shortcomings,
But quickly condemn other men?
King David was a great man,
A man after God's own heart,
But he sinned against Uriah,
Failing to see his sinful part.
God sent Nathan, the prophet.
To David, this story was told.
"A rich man stole a poor man's lamb."
David said, "He'll restore fourfold."
"King David, thou art the man!"
This verdict the prophet did give.
"God said that you will not die,
But your new baby will not live."
If you study the life of King David,
You'll see his own judgment, he told.
Through sorrowful losses in his life,
You can say he was judged fourfold.
David repented in great sorrow,
But he still suffered because of sin.
Sin always leaves its ugly scars,
And sin will mar the lives of men.
