My Heart Beats As One

God is the strength of my life
Bring me closer closer to You
You are my portion forever
And I trust in all that You do

I have no thoughts of leaving
For my heart You hold in Your hand
And if You want to keep me there
It will surely be as planned

At times I am weak in my pain
But Your work it must be done
So I place my hand upon my heart
And I touch Your gift Your Son

I feel the shelter of The Lamb
In His arms my body will rest
And He will carry me through it all
As this journey becomes a quest

For I can see a burdened heart
Pounding wildly in His chest
And bloody tears fall to the ground
My God what a horrific test

So gently as I close my eyes
My loved ones prayers I hear
But sweet peace overcomes me
And I have nothing to fear

And when I open up my eyes
My heart belongs to Your Son
Filled with Your abounding love
Beating strongly beating fiercely we are one
