The Brothers

by Kathleen Higham

Bobby and Jimmy were brothers
And they loved each other that's true
But Bobby loved Jesus completely
And Jimmy wasn't sure what he knew

So every time they were together
Bobby would ask do you know
Do you know Jesus Jimmy
Jimmy said I met Him long ago

Then many years had come to pass
And Bobby tried not to worry
He'd ask do you know Jesus Jimmy
Jimmy smiled saying there's no hurry

But Bobby prayed and asked the Lord
For over thirty years he prayed
And the brothers clung together
What a beautiful pair they made

Then one day sitting side by side
Bobby said I'm asking you again today
Do you know Jesus Jimmy
And Jimmy answered him this way

Yes I know Jesus Bobby
And Jesus has answered your prayer
For I said the sinner's prayer last night
And I know how much you care

And we will be brothers forever
Never ever will we be apart
For we have a mansion in Heaven
Now that Jesus is in my heart

Now Bobby is living with Jesus
And he doesn't have to ask anymore
Because he knows Jesus is waiting
When Jimmy walks through Heaven's door
