Knock Knock

There was a knock on the old door,
but knew not who that knock was for.

That steady knock was very hard
so it, I could not disregard.

The knocking was so persistent
but I was very resistant.

I placed my ear against the door
and voice I heard, could not ignore.

I opened slow as hinges creaked.
and through the opening I peeked.

I knew straightway of all my sin,
I humbly bowed and let Him in.

Joy overflowed my cup's dry rim
when I gave all my life to Him.

He knocked on my heart's door because
my doorbell's broke. It doesn't buzz.

Yes, Christ loves you and me, He does.
