Life's Big Question

by Margaret Cagle

When Christ Jesus was here on earth,
Many didn't believe He was God's Son.
Some thought He was John the Baptist,
Or Elijah, or even a different one.

Jesus asked His disciples a question
As together they were drawing nigh
Into the coasts of the country
Of the land of Caesarea of Philippi.

"Whom do men say that I am?"
Jesus asked the question that day.
"John the Baptist or a prophet,"
They answered, "That's what some say."

"Whom do you say that I am?"
Jesus asked as on the way they trod.
Peter said, "You are the Christ,
The Son of the living God."

Each person needs to consider
That same big question today.
Whom do you say that Jesus is?
Friend, what will each of us say?

Jesus is the Savior, the Son of God.
He came to die for the sins of men,
Jesus is my Redeemer and Savior,
For He has forgiven all of my sin!

Jesus asked His disciples, "Whom do you say that I am?" Peter answered in Matthew 16:16, "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God."
