TURN TO THE ONE ABOVE

If you'd learn to cast down that ill thought
You weakens its power to press down your mind
The best medicine ever to be sought
Is simply to switch on your heart's light to find,
And see that there is One above
Who dearly cares for you and loves.

Sincerely bare your soul now to him
Your cup again will be full to the brim
"No one cares for me" cease to say
For God is mindful of you everyday.
He knows your heartaches and fears
He is ready to wipe away your tears.

On him who is ever ready and rightly to hear
Are you ready to call?
To pour out your heart to him who is near
On your kneel ready to fall?

He will lead you out of the dark room of dreadfulness
And bring you into the lighted room of hopefulness
He will give you comfort and make you strong
And to others in gloomy sorrow before long
With the same comfort you will be of aid
For your peace and joy, remember he's fully paid.
