He was not Willing

by Annie B © 2020

The Lord was not willing that any should perish;
As Jesus is enthroned in the glory above.
He pitied our sorrows and the poor fallen world;
And He gave His all for the ones that He loved.

Therefore, He poured out His life for us;
Walking with us our life's pathway;
Hearts broken with burdens too heavy;
But Jesus came to show us God's way.

He was not willing that any should perish;
Clothed in flesh, with its sorrow and pain;
He came to heal the broken hearted
Of all earth's sorrows and shame.

Plenty for pleasure, but little for Jesus;
Time for the world with its troubles and toys;
Too little time for the sick and hungry;
And lifting of lost souls to eternity's joys.
