Psalm 90

by Bettina Van Vaerenbergh

Oh, Lord, You are our dwelling place
Throughout every generation…
You alone have been our refuge;
You alone, Lord, our salvation.

Before You had formed the earth, Lord,
Back when the mountains were not;
From everlasting to everlasting -
You alone are God.

As yesterday, when it's already past,
And as a mere watch in the night -
So, Lord, are a thousand years;
They are as nothing in Your sight.

Our days, they are spent like a sleep;
Much like a tale that is told.
The morning of our youth is so short;
Like grass we wither, and grow old.

The children of men all return to You;
Lord, soon we die and fly away.
Teach us how to be wise, teach us -
To number each and every day.

Lord, in Your anger don't consume us;
Don't be wroth, don't make us sad.
Chasten us not in Your hot displeasure;
Smile upon us, and make us glad.

Oh, if You would satisfy us early
With Your mercy, and Your goodness;
And the beauty of the Lord our God -
Let it always be upon us!

Lord, establish the work of our hands;
Yes, establish Thou all our ways…
Let us rejoice, let us see Your glory;
Oh, Lord, satisfy us early all our days!
