More or Less, Blessed

by John Janzen © 2022

The pantry's stocked, the coop is flocked
We're free and not oppressed
Our socks have holes, but shoes have souls
With more or less, we're blessed

The shower leaks and flooring squeaks
Despite our very best
Attempts to keep things clean & neat
With more or less, we're blessed

Great effort spent will not relent
The need for quiet rest
God undertakes in sleep or wakes
With more or less we're blessed

It never fails that our travails
Resemble now a test
Will attitude show gratitude
Since more or less we're blessed?

Sometimes with less we are served best
With more we are obsessed
To not complain is greater gain
With more or less we're blessed.
