The Ravens (1 Kings 17:1-7)

by Eric Dowden

There once was a flock of Raven birds,
that did something that for Ravens was absurd.
As Angels flapped their wings the wind blew
in the wind the Lord told them what to do.
For in the wind, there was His great voice
it was the Lord speaking, they had no choice.
So they took their special little treat
that was lying inside their little beak
In a quick swoop, diving straight down
they flew fast as they could straight to the ground.
There each one gave up their bread or meat
by lying it down before the prophet's feet.
The Ravens did this day after day
Until Elijah was on his way.
