The Old Story

by John Troutman © 1968

There is a story old as time,
Before the stars were made to shine.
How God in love prepared all this
So you and I could know his kiss.

However, in these days of woe
The multitudes refused to go
To where my soul has found release,
And where is found that perfect peace.

I ask you now, do you believe
That God through Jesus can relieve
Your guilt and suffering, pain and dread
And give you life and love instead?

Just bend your will, your life and heart,
And ask him in, from sin depart.
And then with those who know and see,
Will praise our God - eternally.
