Oh God I thank you for the tree.
In trunk and limbs and leaves I see,
design and purpose, wisdom too,
as there on hills they pierce the blue.
Oh God there's nothing like the tree,
To grace our world and shadow me.
Within its branches creatures fly,
it's beauty seen against the sky.
But may I not forget that tree,
the one out there on Calvary.
The one on which my Savior died,
My place he took, was crucified.
I thank you God for every tree,
and as I live it seems to me,
that every tree I chance to view,
Again reminds me, I love you!
