As you walk through the shadows and darkness of night,
You're tripping and stumbling and dying from fright,
The dangers and temptations worsen the plight,
Compounded by the obvious absence of light.
You can't see your hands right in front of your face,
There's a host of strange beings invading your space,
Your peace and stability have gone without trace,
It seems you've strayed far from the comforting place.
The darkness it calls, it tempts and entices,
Offering worldly pleasures, treasures and vices,
To taste more of life with a variety of spices,
But is the domain of evil and its foul devices.
But walk in the light and you'll soon see the change,
Everything becomes clear there's no fear of the strange,
All things are in order your life re-arranged,
It seems like a healthy and sensible exchange.
Your life is made different with God at the wheel,
You are a New Creation stamped with his seal,
If you give him your heart your sin he'll conceal,
And the love of The Lord erases your ordeal.
