In this world's history there has only been
A single Man whose influential sway
Affected all mankind, though that would mean
An earthly crowning with a vast display.
'A King' they say , but earth-kind knew Him not
This noble monarch wore a crown of thorn
He suffered at men's hands, a sorry lot
For one whose love was met by hate and scorn.
The King of love did not retaliate
For the first time this love was shown to all
In a way not seen before, to celebrate
The explanation of love's primal call.
It's only Him, the only Man, God's voice
And clothed in flesh and blood to meet with us
That love maintains the virtue of our choice
The grace of Him - no other man to trust.
God's Man, the central intent of His plan
To Him, all will soon gather in the end
For God's great purpose since the world began
That every knee to His great Name will bend.
