A Faithful Writer

by Manisha Bennett © 2023

Desperate to find a permanent line
She tries her luck, she tries it all.
The talent she sold, hoping for a call
She slowly starts doubting the divine.

She bangs the door, but no one opens
Left in tears, in fear, all unclear.
Questioning her purpose, pouring her heart open
Heard a voice, "Why do you worry my dear?"

Tears roll down but for a different reason
"I'm not worthy, away from me, I'm a liar
I oath, I curse, I doubt, a treason
I call your name only when I desire".

"Rise up, fear not, all is forgiven.
For you are mine and I hear your cry.
Didn't I tell you for when one seeketh,
There I'll be, there you'll find".

Her faith restored, her will had grown.
She rejoiced for his undying love forevermore.
Thanking the Lord, and praising his throne,

She continued to write and she wrote some more.
