Through Our Blessed Savior

by Annie B © 2023

Jesus Christ, our only Savior;
Suffering pains no tongue can tell;
Turning away God's wrath forever;
Saving us from the pains of hell.

To remind us and to save us
With His life, our quickening food-
His flesh alone that He gave us
And with the wine, His precious blood.

Praise the Father - God in Heaven
Who gave over to death His Son;
To pay to defend us forever in glory
From the misdeeds, we have always done.

We shall hold with faith unshaken
When our souls are sorely distressed.
He gave His blessed food to be taken
By those whose hearts are sin-oppressed.

Christ calls again to the heavy-laden,
Those not yet strong or well.
He will make the weary hearts gladdened
Despite the best physician's skills.

By believing and accepting this Gospel truly;
Then, as welcomed guests, we are here.
All of our confessions He makes holy;
His heavenly love our souls shall share.
