Your Life’s Poem

by John Janzen © 1998

Write a line in verse
Blessing or a curse
For your life is prone
To end up as a poem

Everyday a line
Penned in perfect rhyme
It spells the life you live
And counts the times you give

Every single thought
To God's attention brought
At last you start to see
Your life, it lacks a beat

Harmony and rhythm
Through Jesus Christ is given
Perfect rhyme and meter
No longer falling deeper

Deeper into sin
Before He held the pen
And wrote your life a rhyme
That worked for good this time

Your poem is read to Him
By flaming Seraphim
God gives your soul a home
You wrote a Christian poem
