To Whom Would You Compare Me?

by Rusty Godfrey © 2024

Listen to the Holy One, the One Who Made It All
Who possesses all power to create and to enthrall
"To what or to whom would you compare Me?"
Take all the time to answer you need.
The Giant Sequoia Redwoods? I made them from seed.
The vast Amazon Jungle? I made every flowering plant and reed.
How about towering Mount Everest? To Me, just another hill.
You see, I made them all at my will.
The mighty Pacific Ocean, vast and so deep?
The depth of my powers will make you weep!
Go bigger with your comparisons, take a giant leap!
Look at the Milky Way in the vast night sky
Maybe it will improve your answer on your next try.
What about the constellations, each star in its place?
I created each one and knitted them like lace
How about the star of your solar system, your mighty Sun?
Man, to describe Me you haven't even begun!
Have you not known? Have you not heard?
To compare Me to anything or anyone is absurd!
My powers are without limit, no way to hem them in
That's why your answers fail even before they begin.
"I AM WHO I AM", from age to age the same
I knew you from before you even were; Holy, Holy is My Name.
Hear me now: believe also in these words so true:
You'll never find a greater love than I have for you
My love for you is beyond compare
My love for you, it's always there
For you, I sent my only Begotten Son
So that for you the battle would be won
To restore between us perfect harmony
So that where I am, there you also will be
Trust in Me, My Love, and My Power
Hold tightly to my Word each and every hour
Through My Holy Spirit, I'll transform you into a saint
You will run and not be weary, on your faith walk never faint
Once again the question: "To Whom or What Will You Compare Me?"
The right answer "Nothing and No One Compares to Thee"
My Lord and My God: You are truly a Class of One
Who compares to thee? None.
There's no need for me to ever be asked this again.
In the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
