Just inside the gates of Heaven
Over by the crystal sea,
There my savior keeps a record
and someday He'll call for me.
That Homecoming Day up yonder
Where I meet Him face to face,
Just to know that I am near Him
Saved by His redeeming grace.
There the sun will not be sinking
In the west at close of day,
And our friends will not be leaving
No farewells we'll have to say.
That Homecoming Day will linger
Through the ceaseless ages roll,
There to live in sweet contentment
In God's palace of the soul.
We'll keep telling you of Heaven
And that great reunion there,
God is sending invitations
Everyday to someone here.
