Why, God?

by Grace McGoran

Why, God? Why have you forsaken me?
You said, "I'll never leave. I love you more than the drops in the sea."
But people are dropping dead left and right
And I can't hold on anymore, Father, I can't fight
I know you love me, I know you're there
But this pain, God, I just can't bare
I try and try to pray through it all
Are you even hearing my calls?
I don't know the difference between right and wrong anymore,
Your book tells me answers, but the world's still at war,
So please, Lord, listen to me and tell me you won't leave
Just give me a sign that you're there, please.
