Be you transformed…

by Bettina Van Vaerenbergh

The whole world lies in wickedness;
It's at dire enmity with God…
And that's how it has always been,
Ever since the times of righteous Lot.

The world wants to shape you,
To pour you into a popular mold;
So that, without even thinking twice,
You'd always do as you are told.

It happens slowly and unnoticed —
Of the danger, many are unaware.
Satan rules this world, so remember,
His evil influence is everywhere!

Oh, how he loves worldly Christians;
The callous, indifferent kind.
With sweet, charming distractions
He wreaks havoc on their mind.

Oh, how he chuckles and gloats
If he's put out their fire for Christ!
Neatly conformed to this world —
They're lulled to sleep by subtle lies.

That's why God gave us the Bible;
It's the antidote, you see…
God's means to renew our thinking,
So deeply transformed we might be.

God's Word is alive, and it's powerful,
And we all need a daily fill;
That we might know, prove, live —
His good and perfect, acceptable will.
