When you get to where you're going
When you've reached the promised land
You won't grieve the tiresome journey
But rejoice that you may stand
Face to face within His presence
With the glories there revealed
Not a glimpse of where you've travelled
Every hurt and heartache healed
We won't mind the winding pathway
That has led us to the Lord
We will praise His gracious leading
And the comfort of His Word
And despite the many detours
And the pains that plagued our way
All our toils will be forgotten
On that bright and glorious day
Knowing sure now is the promise
Of our home hereto unseen
whether mountaintop or valley
now but a few more steps between
Every unexpected U-turn
Every fork which questions raise
Will in time return an answer
And redound to God in praise
After passing through as pilgrims
When we rest on Zion's hill
We will thank God for the journey
And conforming to His will
