The darkness of the night
The distance from the day
The moonlight's soft and gentle light
A sad and ghostly ray.
In darkness many walk
Of this are not aware
Purposefully through shadows stalk
Self-confidence declare.
Darkness is in the mind
On earthly poisons feed
With futile footsteps of the blind
Sad traffickers of greed.
A ray of light may shine
Upon a hapless heart
By accident? Or by design
The light of God impart.
The harbinger of day
Light spreads that heart upon
And sunrise beams a fresh display
Another heart is won.
Jesus, it is His Cross
The Cross on which He died
That show.all other ways are dross
Only to Him abide.
Daytime is all around
For those who know His Love
Where Grace and Mercy now abound
Forgiveness from above.
The ever warming Sun
The beauty of this time
Reflection of a journey run
Eternally sublime.
