Begone Satan

by Joshua Wehrmann © 2024

Wondering where the money is for this huge stack of bills.
The food, the rent, the kids' new shoes, the doctor, and his pills.

Wondering where my time all went as I keep scraping by.
Working through activities, and watching time, it flies.

Losing hope in this cruel world, it's all so unforgiving.
Sometimes you feel on hamster wheel, please just stop the spinning.

Anxiety cause sleepless night, depression though the day.
Trudging through from fright to fright, I wish it'd go away.

But that's his game the Morning Star, the angel known as Satan.
Corners you to feel alone, false hope, you just keep waiting.

There's grace and mercy from this world my brothers, sisters too.
The battles won, the war is over, accept what's done for you.

With faith in Christ, HIS sacrifice, HIS strength and love your banner.
Strap on the armor of our God, have faith, be strong in manner.

The test be hard, trials abundant, this life is just a blink.
With fear of Father, faith in Son, this trying world will shrink.

So get behind me Satan, now, live in the Christ I do.
Armed with the word, and fervent prayer, boy you and I are through!
