I Trust Him

by Clinton Herring © 2023

My days seem dark
And often bleak.
I find I'm lost
And very weak.

I turn to Him.
He holds on tight.
Words fill my heart,
His Word's my light!

When storms come through
and shake my life,
and rain pours down,
and bring more strife,

God has a plan.
I need to trust.
His grace is more,
His gifts don't rust.

For I don't see
What lies ahead.
It's hard to live
And doubts to shed.

If I then turn,
He spreads His peace.
He takes those doubts,
For they must cease.

He's strong and fierce
On my behalf.
He lifts me up,
He holds my staff.

His promises
Come back to mind,
And they become
My treasured find.

He brings to mind,
His love for me!
My love is weak,
But I'm set free.

My strength's from Him,
I'm not let down,
He lifts me high.
I'll wear a crown!

He's coming back.
With Him, I'll walk.
He'll take me home
With Him, I'll talk.

The great "I Am",
My life entrust,
My God and friend,
In Him, I trust.
