enslaved by the tension
created in my heart,
stuck in apprehension
not knowing where to start.
striving for perfection
failure consumes my time,
shame crowds my reflections
a hurdle too hard to climb…
invited into freedom
by a Father, through love
entering His Kingdom
from pain we rise above.
all God's goodness savour
living to a new step,
free to live in favour
safe in His arms I'm kept.
the chains of bitterness
released; by His love restored,
found through the wilderness
where I learn to make Him Lord
freedom's dance embracing
I'm letting go of self,
all my fears replacing
shame, now left on the shelf.
Note: We are no longer slaves - we are free to live in His favor! Sometimes he needs to take us on a journey through the wilderness (so we can discard our striving), so that we can get to the promise land
