Help Us to Surrender

Help us to surrender, LORD,
all ungodly "things" —
"things" on Earth that will not last—
please pull on our heartstrings.
Give us ears to hear Your voice
that tells us to let go
of all worldly pos-ses-sions—
each one we keep in tow.
Show us what we need to yield—
the idols that we hold.
Help us to release these "things"—
such "things" that take control.
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also," (Matthew 6:19-21, NIV)
Do not store up for yourself
your treasures here on Earth.
Store your treasures with the LORD—
that's where they'll have great worth.
