There's hunger in this world today
and seeds of loneliness—
great famine from the lack of touch—
a state of hopelessness.
So many feel that no one cares—
like they've been cast away.
They're desperately in need of love
and search for it each day.
They hunger for someone to fill
the void—the emptiness.
They weep—they grieve—they're suffering—
they're overwhelmed by stress.
Fragility and fearfulness
run rampant in their veins,
while living without human touch
their hearts sustain such pain.
They need to feel that they belong—
not ever to be shunned,
and that their lives are valuable—
a treasure to someone.
The LORD God never meant for us
to live our lives alone,
without someone to show us love—
He wants love to be known.
So, should you ever meet someone
who's hungry and in need
of hugs and love and tenderness,
please show them a good deed.
