"Those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning,
when God created the world, until now—and never to be equaled again. . .
But in those days, following that distress, the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light,"
(Mark 13:19,24, NIV).
LORD,
We're living in a darkened world—
in times of great distress.
Oft times the sun won't show its face
and leaves us in darkness.
This world is spinning out-of-sync
and people are confused.
Some really don't know who they are—
they're puzzled—they're bemused.
O' who and what have we become—
a species unaware.
So many show such disrespect—
they just don't seem to care.
Some have become so self-absorbed
and live complacently.
They've lost all sense of what is true,
and live haphazardly.
Come help us, LORD—come to our aid—
we can't do this alone.
We need You now—please intervene
by ending this cyclone.
O' search the darkest corners, LORD,
with lanterns every day,
and pull us from this spinning world
so no one's swept away.
Please hear our cries—don't leave us here—
change hearts and pave the way.
Come save us from destruction, LORD,
and light our paths each day.
