A Thorn in My Flesh

by Kristine Stanton © 2015

"To keep me from becoming conceited...there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But He said me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me...For when I am weak, then I am strong" (2 Corinthians 12:7-10, NIV).

A thorn in my flesh
was given to me.
Three times did I plead,
"Lord, take it from me."

Yahweh then answered—
He spoke right to me.
His answer was, "No,
but I am with thee.

"My power shows up
in you when you're weak,
for that is the time
it's Me that you seek."
