When conscience rails against you
And tells you of your sin,
When Satan stands accusing you,
Of how depraved you've been.
Don't argue with the devil,
To conscience do not lie,
Do not try to hide the truth,
If truth you can't deny.
Instead cling to the gospel,
and call the devils bluff.
Confess it to Gods glory,
That Jesus is enough.
The value of the death of Christ,
Removes your every blight.
His perfect robe of righteousness
Makes holy in Gods sight
If you are a child by faith,
You never shall be damned.
For you shall overcome through Christ,
The sacrificial lamb.
Confess your sin, forsake it,
More joyful you will be;
But add not to the work of Christ,
Make Him your only plea.
