Mercy

People of God are merciful,
Compassionate, no less.
Especially to those in need,
Who are in deep distress.

True mercy starts with deep feelings
Of love and sympathy,
For those in need who suffer pain,
And live with misery.

But mercy cares so deeply that
It will not be complete,
Until we act to help the one
Who struggles with defeat.

Since in God's image we are made
We have compassion too,
So, we reach out to those in need
To see what we can do.

Those who are kind to the hopeless,
By God they will be known.
So, blessed are the merciful,
Mercy they will be shown.
