Trial of Trials
(part 2)

A friend that I had known so well
was standing at the gates of hell.
My heart cried out in deep despair.
Twas my fault that he stood there.
I barely made it by God's grace
For hell was my deserving place.

I mentioned to no one on earth
the miracle of God's new birth.
My friend cried out in agony.
"I'm doomed for all eternity!
You met me nearly everyday.
You knew the Truth,Life, and way"

I hung my head in bitter shame.
I had reproached my God's Dear Name
It's not His will if one should fall.
I hurt my Lord the most of all.
My tears fell in a steady stream.
I couldn't tell it was a dream.
