When I'm overwhelmed with fear and with doubt,
And my fair-weather friends have all bailed out.
When there's no one left but the problems and I,
Then the Burden Bearer comes walking by.
When pain in my body is all I can feel,
And there is no prescription that can heal,
When all I can do is lay here and cry,
Then the Great Physician comes walking by.
When I'm sad and alone, with no one to care
When my only feeling is one of despair,
When I wonder what it is like to die,
Then the great Comforter comes walking by.
He promised me He would always be near,
And my every cry He would always hear.
When I'm sick, alone, and the problems mount high
Then that's when my Jesus comes walking by.
