Away With The Manger

by Deborah Ann Belka
https://poetrybydeborahann.wordpress.com

Away with the manger,
no need for a bed
the birth of our Savor
is best left unsaid.

The unbeliever's of the world,
look down from their nose
when the name of our Lord Jesus,
on them, we impose.

The masses are in agreement,
saying Christmas is a mistake
but covetousness for the season
they will never forsake.

We love thee materialism,
we love thee so much
and to their credit card idols
they bow down and clutch.

Be clear to say happy holidays,
season greetings to you
but don't mention the babes name
or you, they may sue.

They bless all of their goodies,
their toys and their playthings
but want nothing to do with the gift
that the sweet baby Jesus - brings!
