Forgiven

by Gertrude Jefferies

Today I laid my sin and shame
Down at the Savior's feet.
The shattering weight and load of guilt
No longer troubles me.

He saw the shame and saw the sin,
Yet loved me just the same.
And since I gave them all to him,
His cleansing I now claim.

The blood has washed and made me clean
And when God looks at me,
It's just as if I've never sinned,
Because of Calvary.
