The Root of Bitterness

by Deborah Ann Belka
https://poetrybydeborahann.wordpress.com

The root of bitterness,
digs deep into our soul
fighting so ever hard
to take complete control.

It's entirely entrenched,
in resentment and regret
holds tightly to our heart
so the past we'll not forget.

It puts a choke hold on,
the thoughts in our mind
in the hopes God's peace
we won't be able to find.

It establishes itself,
before we even know
until on the outside
our anger starts to show.

The only way to kill,
the root of bitterness
is to apply to it . . .
love and forgiveness!

Ephesians 4:31

“Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking,
be put away from you, with all malice:”
