It Was All Planned

The Cross- was no accident
Our God knew that it would be
Hell thought it scored a victory
Hanging Jesus on a tree.

But God's gracious mercy
Knew this was the only way
To redeem his precious children
From the power of sin's sway.

God knew the grave would open
For death could not hold Him down
And Jesus was the first-fruits
Of all who are heaven bound.

O death, where is your victory
O grave, where is your sting?
Almighty God has triumphed
Christ Jesus is Lord and King!
