A Prayer For Love

by Pearl Leona Sturgis
https://www.facebook.com/pearlleona

I do not ask for treasure
as diamonds, pearls or gold.
With too much worldly treasure
I might wander from the fold.

But Lord, You have a power
that my heart is dreaming of.
I'm praying at this hour
You will fill my heart with love.

To walk beside my brothers
In this troubled weary land;
To laugh and cry with others
with a heart that understands.

To wear a smile of sunshine
when storm clouds rise above.
In good times and in bad times
will you fill my heart with love?

When You cross dark waters drear
to sail life's raging sea.
to save someone You love so dear...
please let Your ship be me?

The waves may splash against me
but You'll whisper "Peace be still".
The lost will know You sent me...
If with love my heart is filled.
