The Stones Cry Out.

by Albert Watson

Why friends all these shouts of joy,
Who is this that's passing by?
Why spreading cloaks and waving palms
And why quotations from the Psalms?
A King you say, on a donkey's colt
Is this the truth or some revolt?
He's healed the sick and raised the dead
And once five thousand people fed.
Could he be God, mad man, or liar?
Tis said the leadership conspire
To have him killed, they've heard him say,
I am the life the truth the way
And even now the Pharisees
With this outburst are ill at ease
Stop this noise and claims being stated,
Our Jewish law is denigrated
What then will this man reply?
'If these my brethren I deny
Say to them, don't sing or shout
Then listen, hear these stones cry out.'
