God Controls the Wind

by Deborah Ann Belka

As the winds blow, so my life shall grow to be,
whether winds of comfort or those of distress
the Lord directs them from where they shall come
so His Spirit on my soul ~ He can mightily impress.

Powerfully blowing the measure of His perfect will,
winds from the north, south, east, or the west
though I don't know from where they'll advance
they come in His peace or to my faith ~ as a test.

I can hear the rushing of the winds approaching,
but know not what they have in store for me
a soul brought to mourn, to cry Abba – Father
a heart that groans from the sin that it can see.

My prayers rise furiously to His mighty throne,
God my Father, how long will these winds last
gather them up from all four of Your corners
let them not linger, let them return to You fast.

My breath is taken away by these heavenly winds,
I can feel all around His mighty influence blowing
breathing new life and new hope into my life
and in every direction I can feel my soul growing.

As the winds blow, so my soul shall be tested,
whether winds of comfort or those of distress
the Lord directs them from where they shall come
so my heart and soul ~ He can eternally possess!

John 3:8

"The wind bloweth where it listeth, and
thou hearest the sound thereof, but
canst not tell whence it cometh, and
whither it goeth: so is every one that
is born of the Spirit."
