The wind walks softly on the water,
Invisible feet in unseen flight,
Leaving tiny footprints on the surface;
Diminutive glimpses of glittering light.
Painted on this aquatic canvas
Are the trees and leaves of the fallow shore,
Whose water color compositions
Invite my eyes to roam and explore
The mighty pine and golden beech,
The flowering crocus and camellia.
Magnolia blossoms, silky white,
And the wild growing azalea.
The Master's hands have worked His wonder
All around this limited lake.
I walk in awe of God's great splendor
Within the wind's invisible wake.
