ONE small SIN

by Gloria Beach © 1985

I once had a heavy burden
that was deep within my heart
and I begged for God's mercy
that by his grace it might depart.

It seemed unreal that one small sin
could cause so much unrest
but until it was taken care of
I would surely not be blessed.

To others I appeared to be happy
I longed for the peace I once knew
for a while I fooled my friends
but no Lord, not you.

Then the time came for me to repent
a decision had to be made
so I gave God this small hidden sin
all my cares on him I laid.

If you too have a heavy burden
put to practice the things you know
just give our cares to Jesus
don't hold on to your sin, let go.

Luke 9:62

"And Jesus said unto him, No man, having
put his hand to the plough, and looking
back, is fit for the kingdom of God."
