The Dogwood Tree

By my kitchen window
It stands the whole day long.
When I do the dishes
it fills my heart with song.

When I take a coffee break
it keeps me company.
Though I speak not a word to it,
it says so much to me.

It tells me of my Savior's love
and how He died for me...
with many bloodstained blossoms
plainly written on the tree.

It tells me how He loved me then
and how He loves me yet...
For I must be reminded ...
each day...lest I forget.
