Slowly I strolled along the unpaved lane
That wound its way through the grass covered field.
As the sun sailed upon the pale blue main,
And twilights shadows were softly revealed,
The fireflies flashed in the fading light,
Lifting themselves in the suns mellow yield.
Pausing to marvel that magical sight,
My thoughts began wandering through my mind.
It was then, in the coming of the night,
The frailty of faith was quickly defined.
The fireflies flickered before my eyes;
A bright flash with darkness left behind.
Their fragmented light made me realize
How fragile a thing faith truly can be.
Then turning my gaze to the star filled skies,
The glow of true faith beamed down upon me.
