The CHRISTmas Clause

by Deborah Ann Belka © 2015

For many the season,
is all about Santa Claus . . .
the presents that he brings
on which to lay their claws.

They get all excited,
over all the bright lights
often sparking in them
sounds of their delights.

What joy they all have,
over trimming a fir-tree
and listening to Jingle Bells
fills them with much glee.

For some the season,
reminds them of God’s favor
how He sent to all the Gift . . .
of Christ Jesus, their Savior.

We get all excited,
when hearing of the True Light
sparkling from the Star
that shone one winter’s night.

What joy we all have,
over the Branch and the Vine
and listening to Silent Night
fills us up with New Wine.

For many the season,
is all about Santa Claus
but for some it’s all about . . .
Salvation’s only clause!

Isaiah 11. 1

“And there shall come forth a rod
out of the stem of Jesse, and a
Branch shall grow out of his roots:”
