Where the Green Grass Grows

by Pearl Leona Sturgis
https://www.facebook.com/pearlleona

When the color of your heart
turns the deepest shade of blue...
With the storm clouds moving in,
there's a haven hid from view.
In the winter of your life
you are walking through the snow.
Keep on walking ...
till the green grass grows.

When the disappointments come
and a heavy heart you bear...
Just a little farther on...
There's a pasture green somewhere.
Keep on walking through the snow
when you feel the north wind's chill,
For it's springtime ...
Just across the hill.

Don't you worry. Don't you grieve
when it's time to part the way.
Though this body you may see...
Lying cold and still someday,
For the soul will be at peace
and when winter's door is closed
there'll be pastures ...
where the green grass grows.
