According to Thy Word

Lord, keep my feet steady,
let me walk according to Thy Word
help me to stand firm and strong
amidst the earth's ungodly herd.

Lord, keep me from this world,
from its blasphemous desires
help me to stay close to You
and do what Your Word requires.

Lord, keep me in Thy company,
surround me in Your love and grace
let not this scornful generation
make me turn ~ my back on Your face.

Lord, keep me safe and sane,
in a world that has gone purely mad
let me not be among the evil doers
who are addicted ~ to all things bad.

Lord, keep my feet steady,
let me walk according to Thy Word
so that I can stand and be strong
amongst this irreligious herd!

Blessed is the man that walketh not
in the counsel of the ungodly, nor
standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
