The Apprentice

by Deborah Ann Belka
https://poetrybydeborahann.wordpress.com

I am but an apprentice,
with many things to learn.
I study to prove myself,
so His will I may discern.

With fear and trembling,
my Bible I explore and read.
To stay on salvations road,
I must let His Spirit lead.

I am my brother's helper,
Assisting him in his need.
Helping him to plant another,
trusting faithful seed.

I reap from the Lord,
In His parables how to act.
And find when I follow them,
there's nothing that I lack.

I am the aide to my sister,
Offering to her a helping hand.
I pick her up when she falls,
and in faith I help her to stand.

I listen to what God says,
and wait for Him to show.
The way and the direction,
He would have me to go.

I am but an apprentice,
and I am learning as I go.
Knowing that my Master,
helps me everyday to grow.

Right now I am His follower,
helping those who are in need.
But one day the Lord will have,
a whole flock for me to lead!
