In the valley of despair,
there is a gulf of grief.
Where the sorrows of this life,
leaves us begging for relief.
We thirst for living waters,
for a peaceful resting place.
Where we can forget the pain,
that's so unbearable to face.
The hurting heart can't calm,
or remove the painful break.
It needs the healing touch,
of the One who won't forsake.
The grieving soul can't let go,
nor cause the ache to part.
Until the valley's Shepherd,
relieves the throbbing heart.
